The Scottish AI Alliance continues to support all research funding bids equally, providing tailored letters of support to bids involving Scottish universities. Successful bids supported include:
The EPSRC AI hub for causality in healthcare AI with real data (CHAI Hub) is one of these. The CHAI Hub will use AI to better understand causal relationships in healthcare data, including predicting outcomes and personalising treatment. Led by Professor Sotirios Tsaftaris, University of Edinburgh.
AHRC BRAID Scoping Project - AI in the street: scoping everyday observatories for public engagement with connected and automated urban environments. Led by Professor Noortje Marres and supported by Dr Bettina Nissen at University of Edinburgh. This project will explore divergences between principles of responsible AI and the messy reality of AI as encountered in the street, in the form of automated vehicles and surveillance infrastructure. The aim is to ground understandings of AI in lived experiences.
UKRI AI Centre for Doctoral Training - Centre for Doctoral Training in Responsible and Trustworthy in-the-world NLP, led by Professor John Vines at the University of Edinburgh. Training the next generation of researchers and innovators in designing responsible and trustworthy natural language processing
We are committed to engage and collaborate with all successful projects with Scottish university involvement and support them through access to our networks and promotion of their activities through their channels.
